The kids are adulting, and you’re finding more time on your hands, maybe questioning your new role as an empty nester,  and perhaps even your purpose. Perhaps you have noticed you are becoming increasingly bored with that dream career or business you were convinced you’d be passionate about forever.

No matter what the combination is for you, you are ready and able to do something about bringing some new adventure and reinvention to bring the passion back into your life, business, and faith.

you are ready and able to do something about bringing some new adventure and reinvention to bring the passion back into your life, business, and faith.

That’s what my story was right after my 48th birthday. My daughter and only child was about to graduate high school that June and head off to college, and we were excited for her. Our busy lives were already slowing down as we began that “letting go” process around Christmas time, but still, life was about to change – I didn’t anticipate the unexpected way it would.

Mother’s day weekend, I attended a Christian retreat. During that weekend, I felt a genuine shift almost in a physical way, which I couldn’t explain. Something sort of let go. I felt more at ease and relaxed than I ever had – an inner peace I had never experienced.

While this would typically be a good thing, I arrived home knowing it would take a few days to return to my usual pace. What I faced instead was the challenge to reignite my motivation and passion for my business of almost 25 years.

The next several months, I tried everything and looked everywhere for answers. If I only knew then what I know now.

If I only knew then what I know now.

After several significant attempts to reignite my passion, I realized it wasn’t only the business that needed attention, but for me. It was time to dig down and discover my “why” and figure out what’s next.

What I hadn’t realized was I was experiencing what many other women experience in midlife.

That research and personal journey led me to tap into a level of Moxie I never knew I had.

I discovered a new perspective and renewed purpose in my life that resonated through to my business.

It was this reinvention that brought a deeper understanding of my “why” and allowed me to pivot to a new direction that holds a deeper meaning for me and reflects my gifts of teaching and encouragement.

By looking back as well as inward, permitting myself to stop to understand myself deeper and challenge my status quo brought me to discover my “what’s next.”

In this episode I talk about:

  • Being a woman with Moxie who is stuck
  • The cost of “toughing it out.”
  • Looking back to look toward what’s next
  • Dusting off your dreams and reinventing even if you don’t think you can

My challenge to you is to think about where you are in your life right now, what needs dusting off and where or how would you like your life, business or faith to be and post below – I really would love to know.
