Welcome. I’m Cheryl Kaiser—The Photo Archaeologist.
For more than 35 years, photography has been both my profession and my way of experiencing the world. Along the way, I discovered that photographs do far more than preserve memories. They help us notice, remember, understand, and connect.
Whether I’m creating new photographs, exploring family history, restoring treasured images, or helping someone preserve a lifetime of memories, my work begins with the same belief: every photograph has the potential to reveal something meaningful.
Sometimes that meaning is found in the story of an ancestor. Sometimes it’s discovered in a quiet landscape, a fleeting moment of light, or an image that invites us to pause and see differently. Old photographs connect us to our past. New photographs help us become more present. Together, they shape the legacy we leave behind.
Through photography, writing, speaking, and personalized guidance, I help people uncover stories, deepen connections, and create a more meaningful legacy—one photograph at a time.

Behind the Camera
Photography has been part of my life since I was eleven years old. Long before it became my career, it became the way I experienced the world. Through every season of life, photographs have helped me notice, understand, remember, and connect.
