Recognizing moments and recording them with your phone, camera, or just a personal mental snapshot, are wonderful ways to meditate, pray, and worship. It offers a way to be calm in times of stress and anxiety that not brings you closer to God and thankfulness in the present. It will fill your mind with calm and the Spirit and offer you a moment of peace.

About the photograph:
This image was created in June 2019 while at Presque Isle State Park, Erie, Pa. on a road trip to Detroit.

It was a windy, raw day and as we traveled through Erie I told my hubby how he had to see this park. We walked around and of course, I get lost when I begin to truly see the essence of a place. In spite of the threat of rain, there were so many – what I call – “vignettes of God’. Boy, every detail of a place can hold my attention and speak to me. What I love here are the textures of the small band of sand, the water, and the rocks and the shadow from the tree on the water. As I looked at this photo and was composing it in black and white, I saw the rocks as a woman lying on her side with her knees pulled up in front of her.sleeping. The rock just under the lower leaves seems ot have a face. Maybe it’s just me and that’s ok. You know how it is, once you see something you can’t un-see it!

Study the image for yourself – what comes to mind?
