You probably have seen that my team and I are re-imagining the Moxie Sisterhood and the Cheryl Kaiser brands.

It’s important to know when to refresh, re-imagine or reinvent, whether it’s yourself as a woman, your business, or your life in some way. It’s a step and part of your Life Vision Journey and a big part of who we are as strong women.

Often, when we want to change, we are met with obstacles – “filters” as I like to call them. Filters, such as our circumstances and situations both in the world and our life; past choices and experiences, etc. The enemy uses these (and more) to shape your fears and create the filters which distort your life lens. It’s through this lens that you see yourself and your possibilities.

So, when we begin to think of our direction, how to move forward, and confident of God’s will for our lives or at least this next season, our distorted lens and those filters often leave us feeling confused, overwhelmed and wondering if we are doing the right thing or just wishful thinking.

I’ve refreshed, reinvented, and re-launched myself and my business several times in the last ten years. At first, I felt embarrassed because I thought I looked flighty like I didn’t know what I wanted to do. But it only looked like that to me. I came to realize the filters I had that distorted my vision and understand I, like you, am work in progress; we are always evolving. At the moment, I may have felt scattered – but guess who knows what was going on!

In fact, with each step, each refresh, each ah-ha, and each re-launch, I gained wisdom, discovered myself more deeply, and knew I was one step closer to what I am meant to do. Each step and new goal added challenge and variety, which I thrive on, to encourage, inspire, and equip bold women like you! And I know it’s a journey of my life vision that He has planned for me.

In re-imagining my business, I am going through doubts, fears, and what if’s too.

I want to share with you the most important aspects of going through any refresh or reinvention.

– It takes time; our timeline may not be His.

Often we see those we aspire to as successful, and in a place, we want to be. What we don’t understand is their journey, and what they went through to be where they are.  Enjoy the journey where you are, and keep focused ahead and listen to your heart. The filter of comparison (where you are vs. where someone else is) will deceive you. No one starts at the beginning and takes one step and arrive at the end. It takes steps, sometimes baby steps. So plan your steps and keep focused on your destination and set your compass in the right direction.

– Recognize your excuses as lies and ‘flip it!’

Filters of excuses is also a part of the reinvention. We are human, our flesh wants what it wants, and it wants to be comfortable. We don’t want to gamble with the “what if’s.” Sound familiar? “What if it doesn’t work?” “What if I try this and I lose a lot of money that I don’t have?”, “What if I try and embarrass myself?” “What if I try and people don’t like it?”

But let’s flip that. What if it does work? It could be so much more amazing than you imagine. What if you’re not embarrassed because it’s just all in your head and people see it and think wow she’s so brave! What if it wasn’t exactly what you planned, but you gain wisdom you would never have otherwise?

Excuses will only keep you stuck and bring regret when later you wonder how great it would have been if only you had tried?

– It seems too hard and overwhelming.

Yes, it can be hard and overwhelming to us. When has anything easy been worthwhile versus something you’ve struggled with and through?

The lies of “it’s too hard” is just the enemy whispering to you that you shouldn’t try and convincing you of your inevitable failure. Don’t listen. Clear that filter because He is not a God of chaos but order and love.

The only time I’ve failed is when I’ve tried to do something in my power and to ask Him to support MY will. Hmmm.

It’s about…

It’s about recognizing the nudge to make a change.
It’s about listening to what your heart is saying.
It’s about, in faith, taking the steps-one at a time, even a baby step. Build momentum.
It’s about your relationship and collaboration with the One who is our focus.
It’s about trust that no matter what, you will be a different, more wise person with a great new story and wisdom to build on.
It’s about taking the steps, knowing you are growing closer to the woman you were created to be.
Leave the filters – the fears, excuses, lies, circumstances to Him and refresh, reinvent, pivot whatever it is you are being nudged to change. After all, every season has an expiration date, and we don’t want to hold on to what we shouldn’t so we can make room for new!
