About
Uncovering the Past, Curating the Present, and Sharing Stories That Matter
I’ve always been drawn to the stories hidden in old photographs, documents, and artifacts. Since picking up my first camera at age 11, I’ve been captivated by the power of images to preserve history, evoke emotion, and connect us to those who came before us. That curiosity led me to a career spanning over 35 years in professional photography, photo restoration, and storytelling.
But my journey hasn’t just been about pictures—it’s been about people, legacies, and the deep desire to understand where we come from. Over time, I realized that my passion wasn’t just about preserving history; it was about helping others make sense of their own family stories, find meaning in the past, and create something lasting for future generations.

Today, as The Photo Archaeologist, I help individuals, families, and organizations uncover, curate, and share their history in a way that brings order to chaos, turns clutter into treasures, and makes the past feel alive again. Whether through speaking, consulting, or hands-on projects, my mission is to make family history and photo preservation accessible, engaging, and meaningful.
A Personalized Approach to Every Story
I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all solutions—every family archive is unique, just like every person’s connection to their history. That’s why I take a consultative, relationship-driven approach, guiding clients through the process of discovery and preservation with humor, expertise, and a passion for getting the details right.
From white-glove archiving to interactive Memory Showcases, my work is about more than just organizing—it’s about celebrating lives, preserving legacies, and sharing stories in a way that resonates.
Who I Am Beyond the Archives
I’m a passionate, high-energy, slightly sarcastic redhead who believes that life should be filled with curiosity, connection, and a whole lot of laughter. I don’t sit still well (or ever), I love a good challenge, and I’m always up for an adventure—whether that’s traveling, drumming in a bagpipe band, or stepping out of my comfort zone just to see what happens.
I’m blessed to have been married for over 33 years to the most patient man on earth, and I’m the proud mom of an incredible daughter. I also cherish my role as “Momma K” to a community of amazing young adults who continue to inspire me.
At my core, I’m a storyteller, a memory-keeper, and an encourager. If you’re feeling overwhelmed by family photos, old documents, or the stories you know need to be told but don’t know where to start—I’ve got you. Let’s bring your family history to life, together.
